2014年5月16日，律师唐荆陵以涉嫌“寻衅滋事罪”被刑事拘留，关押在广州白云区看守所，警察从他家中带走两台电脑和三部手机。

2006年，唐荆陵发起了 “中国公民不合作运动”。他是著名维权律师，曾介入一些重大案件，如2012年劳工维权人士李旺阳离奇死亡案、2005年广州太石村村民要求罢免村干部事件等。2008年其律师执照未获更新。
